His research interests are Ornithology, Animal Ecology and Wildlife Conservation. He has been awarded the ZSL EDGE of existence fellowship 2019-2021 to study the ‘Status,ĭistribution and conservation of Bengal Florican in North-east India’.īiswajit is currently involved in projects dealing with the status and distribution of Bengal Florican, habitat preference, threat assessment and conservation of the species in North-east India. Biswajit has worked as a Field Biologist, involved in the release and monitoring of the reintroduced Pygmy Hogs under Pygmy Hog Conservation Programme in Assam. He has been working in the grasslands of the Brahmaputra Floodplains for the last five years. He has a master’s in Ecology and Environmental Science from Assam University, Assam, from where he is also pursuing a Ph.D.
